There are about as many high pressure cleaners on sale today as there are different cleaning jobs and while that makes it easy to buy the exact right product for its intended purpose, it also represents a problem. That problem is choosing the correct cleaner amidst all the models available! You can narrow down your search based on a few criteria and some of these would obviously be your budget and what exactly it is you want to clean.
Economical And Powerful
Modern high pressure cleaners are surprisingly economical and use far less electricity than the models of old; they often have a power-saving ECO function too. Besides that, the fact that water is dispensed through a narrow nozzle at a very high pressure means that less water can be used because the slim, high-speed jet does a lot of work with a low water consumption.
However, care should be taken with high pressure cleaners' high-pressure jets and not all surfaces can be cleaned this way. The powerful jet can strip coatings off delicate surfaces and it can even break the skin, so extreme care must be exercised not to point it at people and animals. In fact, the jet can penetrate cracks in an asphalt surface too, leading the surface to break up. A final precaution – to protect the unit itself – is the importance of a reliable water supply, because if the pump runs dry it can be irreparably damaged.
Cold And Hot Water High Pressure Cleaners
Cold water cleaners are cheaper to buy but they do not feature the water heating elements of their hot water brethren. However, many people find them entirely satisfactory for cleaning a variety of surfaces and they use less electricity with it. If you have to occasionally clean really grimy surfaces, the normal cold water washer may not be quite up to the job, but you have alternatives.
Firstly, many of the cold water high pressure cleaners are compatible with detergents and when these are added to the water supply, even stubborn dirt can be removed. However, to be doubly sure that you have the most versatile washer, specify one that will also accept a hot water supply, even if it cannot heat the water itself. When fed with a reliable hot water supply and supplemented with a detergent, there is nearly no cleaning job too tough for these cold water washers.
However, one disadvantage of cold water high pressure cleaners are that they cannot usually be supplied with a hot water supply that exceeds sixty degrees Celsius and some industrial cleaning jobs require very hot water to remove extremely tough dirt. Here, only hot water washers will be satisfactory, as they can heat water to nearly boiling point, moving any dirt in its path.
